Start lists will be uploaded closer to the event date.

Registration

Registration is planned to open on Saturday afternoon from 2.00 PM - 5.00 PM at the Kingscliff Community Hall. If you can't make it on Saturday arvo, you can sign on and rack on the day from 5.00 AM and until ten minutes before the first wave start.

When you arrive at the venue you will need to sign in at the registration area. Line up based on your age group, you will then be asked for your surname and first name.

You will receive your registration pack which will include:

  • Bike Sticker
  • Helmet Sticker
  • Bib Number - Put this on your shirt (front) with safety pins or on your race belt.
  • Timing band - Around your left ankle.
  • Swim cap - Make sure it is the right colour for your wave.

If you are a team, one team member can collect your team race kit for the whole team at registration.

Bike Racking

Bike racking is available on Saturday afternoon 2:00PM - 5:00PM and there is overnight security provided.

Before you can enter transition you must have your bike sticker and helmet stickers affixed.  You must also wear your helmet for Officials inspection.

Only race kit is permitted to stay in transition - for all other items, you must use the bag drop.

Bag Drop

Bag drop is located at the Cudgen Headlands SLSC next to registration and will be open from 6am Sunday morning. All items must be collected from Bag Drop at the end of your race.

Parking

Parking for athletes and supporters is available at three primary locations. Athletes and supporters will be assisted in parking by traffic controllers.

Parking is central to registration and transition. Do not park illegally or across driveways as this causes stress within the community. A reminder that council will be onsite all day giving out fines after previous problems.

Parking will not be available on the course, or in many of the streets adjacent to Marine Parade, such as Pearl Street or Seaview Street. It is strictly forbidden to park in the Kingscliff Shopping Village and Woolworths, and athlete's vehicles will be towed.

Parking is available at:

- Rotary Park next to Sutherland Street Bridge
- Jack Julius Park next to Sutherland Street Bridge
- Jack Bayliss Park (site of Kingscliff Markets) north of Bowls Club on Marine Parade

Please do not park illegally as council will be onsite all day giving out fines.

Entry Information

Official entries close 10 days prior to the event. Late entries are offered until the Friday before the event – unless sold out prior.

Yes. The ODM is automatically added to your entry, if you do not have a Triathlon Australia membership.

No, you are only required to purchase one ODM per team entry. If ALL team members are annual TA members, no ODM is required. If NOT ALL members are annual members then an ODM is required.

Opens is a non-drafting division for Olympic participants without any age restriction. Typically, this is the most competitive category and where elites and pros enter.

Yes. All distances have a minimum age for participation. For more information on age restrictions please visit the activity page you are interested in.

Age group racing is determined by your age as of 31 December and grouped in five year brackets (i.e. 30-34, 35-39, etc.).

In some cases we will consider this, but we will need a letter from their coach confirming that they are capable to compete at that distance. This letter can be sent to kingsclifftri@nxsports.org.

All In teams consist of three people who each complete all three legs of a tri each; Relay teams involve each team member doing a single leg of the triathlon.

Athenas (75kg+) and Clydesdales (100kg+) are weight determined categories.

  • Withdrawal 45 days or more out from the event you will receive an 80% refund or 100% credit.
  • Withdrawal 14-44 days out from the event you will receive a 50% refund or 100% credit.
  • Withdrawal 13 days or less out from the event you will receive no refund and 100% credit of your entry fee.
  • Withdrawal 48 hours or less out from the event you will receive no refund or credit of your entry fee.

  • To receive credit or refund, withdrawals must be made in writing to kingsclifftri@nxsports.org

If the event is cancelled or postponed by organisers due to a pandemic (ie. COVID-19), athletes will be given three options:

  1. Automatic transfer to the next Kingscliff Triathlon date
  2. 100% credit to any NX event over the next 12 months
  3. Refund of the entry fee including one day license less 4.6% bank fee

Event Information

The triathlon is scheduled to be held on Sunday 29 November 2020, and Sunday 28 March 2021.

Wave start times for each distance will be finalised in the week of the event, after official entries have closed.

Yes, each triathlon participant receives a timing chip as part of their race pack which is to be worn on the left ankle. For Relay Teams there is one timing chip which must be passed to the next relay member. Results are released online by late afternoon of the event.

We do recommend you leave all valuables at home however if you have a bag & personal belongings you can leave this in the bag storage area whilst you race. Bag storage varies by location so make sure you check your Race Guide.

It’s too early to tell at this stage. An indicative temp will be taken the day prior and the official water temperature will be checked the morning of the event.

Wet suits are only permitted at less than 20 degrees for opens, and less than 22 degrees for age groupers.

We do everything we can to ensure everybody has support and completes their race. We are still pending final approvals from Council, so we do not have the exact curfew times yet – but our planning takes into account all the previous athlete times on the course over recent races to ensure everyone finishes (particularly the cycle as it relates to road closures).

Absolutely – but all bikes must be in a safe working condition.

Yes, helmets are compulsory to participate in the event. When you enter transition to ‘rack’ your bike, you will need to put your helmet on – at this time our technical officials will check that this is safe to wear for the event.

You are not permitted to race with any music devices including mobile phones, MP3 players, earphones etc, this is a very serious safety risk to you and the participants around you.

All teams wishing to set up tents will be asked to do so in the designated areas. With the event operating in the centre of town it is important for the safety and consideration of competitors, spectators and locals that team tents are only erected in permitted areas. Call the office if you would like some more information.
